From Fenestration Review:
Dec. 4, 2013 – At a Nov. 21 meeting, Ryan Dudeck was appointed president of Fenestration Manitoba, with Al Dueck taking the position of past president. Dudeck thanked Dueck for the invaluable role he has played in the past few years in founding Fenestration Manitoba and serving as its first president. During his term, Fenestration Manitoba was incorporated, a board was formed, and a bank account was opened.
In addition:
- A web site has been created (www.fenestrationmanitoba.ca).
- FenMan has been officially recognized as an affiliate member of Fenestration Canada.
- The association re-engaged Manitoba Hydro on behalf of the industry and obtained its official recognition of windows as energy-efficient products.
- FenMan has met with the provincial government to remind it that window and door manufacturing is a strong and vital industry in Manitoba that employs almost 5,000 people directly and indirectly.
- FenMan held its first golf tournament and seminars last June, attracting 80 attendees.
- In October, FenMan organized tour and presentation by Architectural Testing at its test lab followed by important discussions about the new NAFS codes that are being implemented across Manitoba and Canada.
Fenestration Manitoba is a growing organization that needs the support and involvement of the community of fabricators and suppliers in order to continue to represent and promote the interests of the provincial industry and to continue expanding services to members. Together we can work together to make sure that the windows produced in Manitoba are made for our climate and our people.
