2014 ANNUAL MEETING & CONFERENCE
June 12-14, 2014
The Fort Garry Hotel, Winnipeg, MB
Our AGM this year will be held June 12 – 14th in one of Canada’s truly unique cities. Winnipeg has been described as the “cultural cradle of Canada” and offers an array of talented artists, significant architecture, award-winning musicians and athletes, and legendary festivals and cultural events. The city is experiencing an unprecedented amount of change with significant investments in new infrastructure and attractions. With one of the largest French-speaking communities outside Québec, Winnipeg remains an important crossroads of culture, commerce and tourism.
Steeped in both cultural and historical significance in the making of Canada, Winnipeg is also home to a significant number of window and door manufacturers. The Fort Garry Hotel, Exchange District and the ever progressing Canadian Museum of Human Rights are all waiting for you. Al Dueck of Duxton Windows as the conference host is working very hard with members of Fenestration Manitoba to ensure all visitors will be welcomed and a good time had by all.

Building Code Case Studies
Now that the NAFS-08 standard is being used across the country and several provinces have implemented energy codes how are building code officials implementing the code? This presentation will take a look at several case studies of code related issues that have been brought to Fenestration Canada. The studies include code interpretation, education, and clarification. This presentation will also illustrate how members can work with Fenestration Canada to resolve code related issues.
Commercial Energy Codes and how they impact Manufacturers
The National Energy Code for Buildings was published in 2011; British Columbia will be the first province to implement this code. Ontario has had its own energy code, SB10, for building in place for several years now. While these codes apply to commercial fenestration products they will also apply to residential products being used in part 5 buildings where these codes apply. This presentation will review the National and Ontario codes and look at how they impact all fenestration manufacturers.
… Additional presentations and speakers to be confirmed!
