Taylor to deliver keynote at FenCon19

July 10, 2018 – In the on-going process of building a world class conference focused on window and door manufacturing, conference management has again secured an outstanding keynote speaker – Billy Taylor.

2019 will bring several important changes and improvements as the event moves to the newly expanded Winnipeg Convention Center in the very heart of city and near to the incomparable Exchange District as well as the Forks, home to the Canadian Museum for Human Rights! Despite changes and advances, one thing won’t change as the event will once again feature an outstanding speaker. Gary Glowa, President, Inkster Park Millwork, “I would attend FenCon19 – if only to listen to Billy Taylor again, that’s how good he is!”
Keynote Billy Taylor will present on “The people side of Continuous Improvement”. Billy has been called America’s ‘Breakthrough Coach and Operational Excellence Practitioner’. As the Director of Commercial Manufacturing for North America at the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, Billy is one of the foremost speakers and teachers of strategy deployment and performance stratification – enabling the principles of people engagement, empowerment and ownership.

As leader for Goodyear’s North American tire operations, including engineering, capital investments and supply chain execution he is responsible for driving operational excellence, delivering best in class product service and enabling high-value business growth via product quality. Billy brings more than 20 years of experience in all phases of operations management and leadership and has a track record of building high performance self-sustaining teams through employee ownership, engagement, and empowerment processes at all levels of an organization. Through employee ownership his teams have won numerous internal and external awards and recognition.

Billy’s cultural process approach to excellence has been featured in national and global publications as well as conferences featuring practical methods on how to convert strategy into execution to deliver sustainable results. He is recognized within the global operations industry as a validated practitioner for implementing operational excellence within culturally diverse environments. He is a disciple of continuous improvement, his approach to excellence centers on “People First”.

According to Billy, if you’re wondering why your organization and stakeholders aren’t buying into your vision or daily management system for operational excellence, it could be that you have not effectively clarified your operating brand – an organization’s set of operating principles and purpose for people, tools and processes – at all levels.

Billy believes that successful organizations strengthen and develop their enterprise through organic input from people across the enterprise. Everyone wants to be relevant. Simply stated, make people visible and they will make the enterprise valuable. People want to know their relevant role in “winning”, how they fit into the organization’s improvement strategies and how they can make a difference.

Billy’s talk will cover how well your organization understands its daily operating system; how you define, align and execute winning strategies and defining your cultural advantage through your people and your operating assets.

Building a high-performance, self-sustaining culture is the foundation for company-wide success, yet to ingrain that philosophy, ownership cannot exist only at the top level of an organization. Billy will share powerful, practical examples and proven processes to drive sustainable results through a bottom up approach. Successful culture change is driven by diversity and inclusion,” it’s not about the source of the idea, it’s about the quality of the solutions”.
